Claudette Lee Wheelis

Claudette Lee Wheelis, 61, of Poplar Bluff, Mo, passed away June 23, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Wheelis was born January 2, 1954 in Poplar Bluff. On November 7, 2014, she and Shirley Owen where married in Belleville, IL. She survives of the home.

Mrs. Wheelis retired from John J. Pershing V.A. Hospital after thirty years as an R.N. She was loved by her family and many friends. She enjoyed her cats, traveling, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers, and ELVIS.

Other survivors include her two sisters: Sheila Vinson, (Howard), Paulette Alexander (Dale), all of Poplar Bluff; nieces and nephews: Michael Hefner, Kerrie Wagganer (Chris), Kylie Divine (Nick), and Kristen Alexander; and great nieces and nephews: Aaron Hefner, Braiden and Madelynne Wagganer, and Alex Michael Divine.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Wheelis, and her grandmother, Grace Pearson.

Visitation will be at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff on Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the chapel. Interment will follow at City Cemetery.
