Clelah Faye (Boyers) Sisk, 88, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Sisk, daughter of the late Ira and Clelah (Loge) Boyers, was born Feb. 7, 1926 at her parents Cane Creek Farm in Butler County, and was raised in the Hvam area of the Coon Island District. During World War II she worked in Chicago and St. Louis. Later, she along with her husband, Herschel and business partners and sister, Tom and Georgia Casinger owned and operated South End Motors in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Sisk also owned and operated Faye's Day Care Center for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Sisk enjoyed gardening and working in her yard as well as working at her farm on M Highway.
On Feb. 7, 1947, she married Herschel Sisk in Arkansas. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2002. On Jan. 19, 2005, she married Bobby ""Bob"" Payne in Poplar Bluff. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her son, Dr. Gregory Sisk, of Leawood, Kan.; two grandchildren: Rebecca Sisk (Ted) Henry of Wichita, Kans., and Brian Sisk of Lawrence, Kans.; and two brothers: R.J. (Donna) Boyers and Kelly (Judy) Boyers all of Poplar Bluff.
Three sisters, Kate Hamilton, Georgia Casinger, and Alice Ellis and two brothers, John ""Johnny"" Boyers and Auburn Boyers also preceded Mrs. Sisk in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
