Curtis Culp, Jr., 80, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Culp was born March 5, 1927, in Bath Springs, Tenn. He was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, at Broseley, a retired steel worker and a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Culp enjoyed singing and until his illness was still singing with the Christian Echos. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

On Nov. 26, 1986, he married Geneva Wallace, in Indianapolis, Ind. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Donna Lynn Culp, of Columbus, Ga.; two sons, Randy Culp, of Indiana and Michael Culp, of New Jersey; six stepchildren, Sharon K. Sharp, of Va., David Leonard and James Leonard, both of Poplar Bluff, Betty Moore and Larry Leonard, both of Indianapolis, and Kenneth Leonard, of Salt Lake City, Utah; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annabel Burton and Essie Mae Overstreet.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in Broseley. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew Jefferson officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, in Bloomfield.
