Dale Richard Ahrent, 86, of Poplar Bluff passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Dale was born on April 11, 1935, to Edward and Ellareda (Deterding) Ahrent in Corning, Arkansas. He married Donna Kathleen McRill on December 30, 1961, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Dale was of the Lutheran faith. He was an extremely hard-working individual; being a pharmacist was a huge part of his life. Through his work he was able to touch many lives. He enjoyed gardening and was very handy around his home. He was an animal lover and had many pets throughout his lifetime. After retirement, he continued his hobbies, but his priority was caring for his late wife Donna as her health declined. Although Dale was often serious, he had a good sense of humor.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Kathleen McRill of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters, Alma (Charlie) Powell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Marilyn Nance of Topeka, Kansas; one brother, Winfred Ahrent of Corning, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two cat companions, Jody Blue and Blackie.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and older brother, Earl Ahrent.
Due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, a private funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Willow Ridge is proud to serve the family and friends of Mr. Dale Ahrent. Online condolences can be made at www.willowridgefcs.com.
