Danny Ray ""Dan"" Ward of Poplar Bluff passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 in Poplar Bluff.

Danny, lovingly referred to as ""Dan, Dan the barber man"" was born July 14, 1952 in Flint, MI to John Frank Ward Jr. and Retha (Clark) Ward. He was a barber for over 41 years, and had worked at the L&M Barbershop in downtown Poplar Bluff for over 17 years. Dan was a member of the Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge, the American Legion, and was a former member of the Poplar Bluff R-1 School Board. He loved being with his family and friends, playing golf, playing pool, bowling, and just enjoying life.

Dan is survived by his mother, Retha Ward, of Poplar Bluff; son, Danny R. Ward, Jr. and wife, Tracey (Mattox) Ward, of Barnhart, MO; sister, Denise Schuerenberg and husband, Paul, of Poplar Bluff; two step-sons, Ryan Nelson and fiance, Melanie Lathrom, and Eric Nelson and wife, Chelsea, of Poplar Bluff; two granddaughters, Kailyn and Morgan Ward; two grandsons, Colton and Danny Ward III; and a step-granddaughter, Storey Nelson.

His father, John Frank Ward, Jr., and a sister, Donna Thornburgh preceded Dan in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff, with an Elks Service following at 12:45 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Chaplain Bill Hatch officiating. Burial will be at New Prospect Cemetery in Silva, MO.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Dan's life will be at the Elks Lodge and also at Jim and Jerry's Tuesday evening.

A memorial fund has been set up at First Missouri State Bank, 1902 Sunset Dr., Poplar Bluff, MO 63901..
