Dathel Webber, 94, of Poplar Bluff, passed away at her residence on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
A loving and kind yet strong and resilient person, Dathel (Boyd) Webber will be remembered for her gentle compassionate spirit. She always wanted to keep the peace. When people struggled to pronounce her name she'd say: "Call me Dixie."
Her family brought great joy-each generation getting more adoration than the one before. Nothing brought a sparkle to her eyes or a smile to her face more than when children came around.
She honored her history by telling many stories of growing up in rural Clay County, AR in the 1920s and 1930s. Dathel was a good storyteller who kept the old tales alive and added new ones as they unfolded over the years.
Dathel spent more than 20 years in retail sales at Newberry's and Ann's Levi Barn plus another few decades farming. She loved to work and always kept her surroundings neat, clean, and pretty. Even into her 80s she mowed her own grass.
