David Lee Barriner

David Lee Barriner, 73, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Barriner was born Dec. 28, 1936 in Poplar Bluff. He was a retired self-employed carpenter, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He also enjoyed caring for his children and grandchildren and watching car racing,

On Dec. 22, 1954, he married Peggy Ann Reed in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include 6 children, Dale Lee Barriner and wife Sheila of Lewisville, Tex., Cecil Barriner of Charleston, Mo., Rhonda Meyers and husband Claud of Salida, Colo., Dana Howe and husband Tommy of Summerville, SC, and Regina Younger and Bellvia ""Will"" Barriner both of Poplar Bluff. 12 grandchildren, James Barriner, Jared Barriner, Joshua Barriner, Misty Younger, Leandra Younger, Lisa Barriner, Crystal Duke, Vonnie Duke, Laretta Duke, Cody Duke, Chelsea Armes, and Adrienne Barriner; 6 great-grandchildren, Cailet, Hannah, Joshua, Christian, Austin, and Kendra; a sister, Barbara Alexander of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and 2 brothers, Larry Barriner of St. Louis and Lonnie Barriner of Poplar Bluff.

His parents, Bellvia and Lovella (Gage) Barriner, a daughter, Ruth Ann Jones and 2 brothers, John Barriner and Henry Barriner preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Butler County.
