David Joe Ford, 78, of Rombauer, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 at his residence.
Joe, the son of the late Clyde and Cecil G. Salyers Ford, was born March 12, 1938 in Miner, Mo. He was of the Baptist faith and was a self-employed carpenter. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family helping other people, swimming, riding horses and Missionary work.
Survivors include three children, Joseph Ford of Dexter, Anna Ford of Poplar Bluff and Ronnie Ford of Foley, Ala.; the mother of his children, Sandra Calder of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Wanda Dirickson of Blodgett, Mo., Carolyn Boucier of Flint, Mich., Shirley Coleman of Sikeston and Linda Dovers of Austin, Texas; and a brother, Dan Ford of Sikeston.
Joe was also preceded in death by five brothers, Dorsey Ford, Donnie Ford, Bob Ford and infants, Vernon Ford and Carl Ray Ford and a sister, Charlotte Ford.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Hamtown Cemetery in Butler County.
