Debbie Lou Medley

Debbie Lou Medley, 56, of Poplar Bluff went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at her residence.

Debbie was born February 13, 1959 in Claremore Oklahoma. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church where she met the love of her life, Richard. They were united in marriage on June 4, 1977. With God's help in overcoming extreme shyness, Debbie enjoyed singing and playing the piano at church services, as well as using her creative talents on Vacation Bible School props and banners for plays. One especially memorable VBS was June 2013 with an amusement park theme. Debbie built a motorized rotating Ferris wheel and swing, as well as a roller coaster seat complete with dangling legs. Debbie was steadfast that all glory for her talents, whether singing, her testimony of faith amidst trials, or her flair for VBS, goes to God. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and her "sister trips", as well as her time spent at the family cabin.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Richard Medley, two sons, Richard William Medley and Andrew Kyle (Ellen) Medley of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Gabriele, Lily, Emma, and McKenna Lou; her mother, Eloise Cochran Jennings(Carroll); brother, Dale Dillon; and sister, Karen Little; her "sisters" and "brothers", Lula McDonald(Bob), Penny Muniz(Ed), Reba King, Ruby Speer(Glen) and Glenda Hatton Cox, Cecil R Bradley and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Dillon, and "sisters", Lelah Medley and Clelah Bradley, and niece, Brittany McDonald.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. The funeral serviceswill begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. John Collins and Rev. Luther Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
