Deborah "Debbie" (Jefferson) Summers, 69, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Oakdale Care Center.

Debbie was born on March 21, 1956, to CPL Charles Thomas Jefferson and Lois Million Wood in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Debbie was a talented artist and thoroughly enjoyed painting and drawing. She also liked to sew and crochet in her spare time. Debbie loved people and never met a stranger; always going out of her way to help others. She was known for her friendly smile and contagious laugh. In her younger years, she liked riding horses and spending time with her brother. Debbie and her son Joe would visit sonic to get their route 44 Vanilla Cherry Chocolate Coke fix as often as possible. Debbie never minded being direct about things, but you would never hear her complain. She was an amazing mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. The loved ones she left behind knows she is in heaven painting the most beautiful skies for everyone to see! She will truly be missed.

Debbie is survived by three sons, Leon Nigel Summers and wife, Natasha, Joseph Summers and wife, and Joshua Summers; one brother, Maj. Tommy Jefferson and wife, Tammie Jefferson; five grandchildren, Jayden, Auna, and Jerick Summers, Elijah Russell, as well as Baby Summers expected in late 2025/early 2026 which Nigel and Natasha were overjoyed to share with Debbie; special niece and nephew, Tanya (Jefferson) Spencer and husband, Rev. Gary Spencer and LTC Tommy L. Jefferson II and wife, Destiny; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, CPL Charles Thomas Jefferson and Lois (Million) Wood and her special companion, Mark Reasons.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm on Monday, June 02, 2025, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00pm with Maj. Tommy Jefferson officiating. Burial will take place at Gresham Cemetery (Dry Hill Church) in Carter County, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
