Deloma Francis Calvert, 87, of Poplar Bluff passed from this life into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 2, 2015 after a long illness.
Mrs. Calvert, daughter of the late William Riley and Lillian (Silman) Strickland, was born Nov. 22, 1927 in Hartzell, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith and had retired from Gossard Clothing Factory years ago. Mrs. Calvert enjoyed quilting, cooking and taking care of her large flower garden using her golf cart for mobility.
On Sept. 23, 1944, she married Lester Calvert in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Gary Wayne Calvert of Poplar Bluff; a grandson, Richard Wayne Calvert and family of Poplar Bluff; two granddaughters, Tammy Lynn Travers of Poplar Bluff and Leslie Calvert of Arkansas; and many friends and loved ones.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Calvert was preceded in death by two sons, David Calvert and Jackie Ray Calvert.
A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
