Dewayne Leroy Rogers

DeWayne LeRoy Rogers, 50, of Wappapello, MO, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Rogers was born August 17, 1963, in Poplar Bluff, to Ronald and Zelma Currie Rogers.

On May 26, 1986, he married Linda May Bennett in Lowndes, MO. She survives of the home.

Mr. Rogers was a member of Cornerstone Tabernacle UPC, and had worked at Briggs and Stratton since 1989. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, hunting, cooking, canning, and woodworking.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Becky Sides, (Anthony), of Colorado, Angela Ziegler, (Rob), of Shook, MO, Michelle Cooper (Jarod), of Poplar Bluff, and Steve Bannister, (Wendy), of Kansas City, MO; Dana Oldham, of Greenville, mother of Destiny and Dustin; eight grandchildren: Brenna, Haley, Kailin, Kristin, Destiny, Dustin, Landon, and Allysa, his mother, Zelma Rogers, of Lowndes, MO; three brothers: Christopher and Gregory Rogers, (Belinda) all of Lowndes, and Andrew Rogers, (Elizabeth) of North Carolina; and a sister Lisa Joplin, (Dean) of Lowndes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Rogers; and grandparents: Frank and Frances Currie, and Charles and Romaine Rogers.

A visitation will be Friday, at Cornerstone Tabernacle UPC in Poplar Bluff, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday at the church with Rev. Bryan Parkey officiating. Interment will follow at City Cemetery.
