Donald Clay Davis, 65, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, June 1, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Davis was born March 24, 1944 in Poplar Bluff, and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time with his children, especially his grandchildren, fishing and hunting.
On Feb. 10, 1962 he married Sharon Darlene Hanner in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Virginia Davis; father-in-law, David Hanner; children; David Davis and wife Tammy, Chris Davis and wife Laura, Pam Thomas and husband Chris and Tim Davis; grandchildren: Randy Davis and wife Karoline, Nikki Burpo and husband C.J., C.K. Davis, Justin Davis, Laci Mae Payne, Matt Davis, Sumer Davis, Tanner Davis and J.D. Davis; great-grandchildren: Heaven Leigh Burpo, Bo Hunter Davis, Cameron Joseph Burpo and Saige Enid Davis; sisters: Evelyn Hill, Joann Nance and husband Carroll, Carol Rist, Thelma Nance and husband Sherman, Loretta Davis, Vanessa Brooks; brothers: Norman Davis, Gary Davis and wife Diane and Steve Davis and wife Marilyn; brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne Myers and wife Carol, Roy Hanner and wife Norma, Barbara Williams and husband Calvin, Margaret Lotshaw and husband Donald; cousin, Scott Koonce; and special friends, Bill Kurz and James Burkett.
His father, Joe Davis, son, Bruce Wayne Davis, grandson, Dustin Lee Davis and mother-in-law Alma Mae Hanner preceded Mr. Davis in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel with the Minister Rick Holden officiating. Burial will be at Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
