Donald Lee Legate

Donald Lee Legate, age 90, of St. Louis Mo., went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2019 at Fountainbleau Nursing Home in Festus, Mo.

Donald Lee Legate was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo to OL and Hazel Legate on March 23, 1929.

Don attended school in Poplar Bluff for all his 12 years and graduated in 1947.

Don worked at his parent’s bakery (Legate’s Bakery) in Poplar Bluff for several years and the remainder of his career as a Boilermaker in Boilermaker’s Local 27, St. Louis, Mo. Don was a veteran of the war in Korea, proudly serving with the Army during 1951.

Don is survived by one brother, Kim Legate of Port Richey, Fl., one sister, Joy Walls of Arnold, Mo., one nephew, Don Walls of Barnhart, Mo., one niece, Amy Hagedorn of Barnhart, Mo., many cousins and friends.

Don is proceeded in death by his parents, OL and Hazel Legate.

The visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Ray Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
