Donald P. Maccani, 65, of Fairdealing, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, after suffering a stroke a week earlier.
Mr. Maccani, the son of the late William and Jeanne (Prouty) Maccani, was born June 5, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio. He spent most of his life in the suburban Detroit area, where he worked for many years in sales for Grosse Pointe Moving & Storage. He earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University.
Mr. Maccani moved to Fairdealing in late 2001 and married Charlotte (Wolpers) Craig in April of 2002. She survives.
Mr. Maccani taught for a time as an adjunct math instructor at Three Rivers College and more recently served as a substitute teacher in the Neelyville and Poplar Bluff school systems. He also worked as a substitute postmaster in the Harviell Post Office.
Mr. Maccani attended Doniphan United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, music, gardening and ice skating.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Zachary (Alina) Maccani of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Saire Maccani of Sydney, Australia; a step-son, Jesse Craig of Columbia, Mo.; and a sister, Elcy Maccani of Harper Woods, Mich.
No services are planned.
