Donald L. Robertson, 77, of Arnold, Mo, formerly of Poplar Bluff and Jonesboro, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at de Greeff Hospice Care Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Robertson was born April 4, 1937 in Valparaiso, Ind., to the late James R. and Madline (Barnard) Robertson. He had retired from American Shoe Machinery Company as a Senior Sales Representative, in which he sold equipment as well as serviced it. Being inventive and having a creative mind, Mr. Robertson loved tools and could make anything.
In 1956, he was married to the former Mildred Stout in Poplar Bluff. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his daughter-in-law, Margrette Monique Robertson, of Jonesboro, Ark.; three grandsons: Thomas Greg Robertson, Stephen Blake Robertson and Bryan David Robertson; two great-grandchildren: Isabel Caitlyn Robertson and Caleb Chase Robertson; four sisters: Eva Prosser, of Fredericktown, Mo., Arlene Schindler, of Kelso, Mo, Darlene Gaines, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and June Schafer, of McDonough, Ga.; three brothers, Jim Robertson, of St. Louis, Mo., Joseph Robertson, of Rosebud, Ark. And Richard Robertson, of Fairdealing, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A son, Thomas Bruce Robertson, two sisters, Leota Gross and Etta Williams and three brothers, John Robertson, Paul Robertson and Phillip Robertson also preceded Mr. Robertson in death.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be at Kinsey Cemetery in Butler County.
