Donald Ray Walker, 81, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Walker was born June 12, 1928 in Aquilla. He was of the Baptist faith, and had retired as a food broker representative for Christian-Singer Food Brokers. Mr. Walker was a veteran of the U. S. Marines having served as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
On July 26, 1947 he married Dora Mae Moore in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters: Vicki Lynn Hicks and her husband Greg of Poplar Bluff and Joni Lott and her husband Rick of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter, Erin L. Hicks of Poplar Bluff; and two sisters: Bea Davidson of Grover Beach, Calif. and Kathryn Shearrer of Cedar Hill, Mo.
His parents, Schuyler David and Beulah May (Overbey) Walker preceded Mr. Walker in death.
A graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with the Rev. Bill Wiles officiating.
