Donald Ray Woodall passed away peacefully on October 10th, 2025, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He is predeceased by his parents Chester William Woodall and Ethel Dye Woodall Waley. He stands to greet his deceased siblings Vernon Woodall, Virginia Woodall Tuck, Linda Woodall Nunnery, and Scottie Wilburn Woodall. He has begun preparing the next life for the eventual greeting of surviving family, his wife of seventy years, Barbara DeLaney Woodall, of Poplar Bluff, daughter Ronda Woodall Whelan, of Baltimore, Maryland, son-in-law Mark J. Whelan, of Baltimore, and granddaughters Veronica Whelan and Alexandra Whelan of Baltimore, Maryland. He is also survived by his twin sister Faye Woodall Philpott Biggs, brother Chester William Woodall, Jr, Dr. Karen Lee Woodall, Jan Woodall Thompson, sister-in-law Rosemary DeLaney Petty, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church brothers and sisters.
Ray was born October 20th, 1936, in Holcomb, Missouri. He served in the US Army and Air Force, the latter from which he retired. He was stationed abroad in Germany, Pakistan, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. He graduated with his BA from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, later retiring from Boeing in St. Louis. He and his wife Barbara were members of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. They have served within their church in numerous capacities over the years, including two missions, one in the St. Louis temple, and one as service missionaries at the Bishop’s Storehouse/food pantry.
Visitation will be held at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services on Tuesday, October 14th, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., funeral services will follow beginning at 12:30 p.m. with burial at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO at 2:00 p.m.
