Donna L. West

Donna L. West, 61, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at her residence.

Donna was born June 16, 1949 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and served on the board for the UCAN Cancer Network. For many years, Donna along with her late mother co-owned and operated Accents, a home decor and craft store. She also worked as office manager for West Truck Enterprises. Donna enjoyed flowers in the spring and snow in the winter, Christmas holidays (her favorite), watching the St. Louis Cardinals and her once a month girl's night out with her former classmates and friends. Her most cherished possession was her family and life in general.

On July 26, 1973, she married John S. West, Jr. in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Matthew L. West and John S. West III and wife Lori all of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, Cody, Michael, Mason, Brittany and Ashley; a brother, Fred Gaines and wife Geri; two nephews, Mark Gaines and wife Sami and David Gaines; and a niece, Kristie Gaines.

Her parents, Leland and Louise Hanks Gaines preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
