Doris Evelyn Rivera

Doris Evelyn Rivera, 82, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at The Cedargate in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Rivera was born Dec. 28, 1927 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church where she also sang in the choir. Mrs. Rivera was a homemaker, a member of the Democratic Society and a former member of the Women's Auxiliary as well as a volunteer at Doctors Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, studying history and traveling.

On Oct. 20, 1972 she married Joseph Rivera in Los Angeles, Calif. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2009.

Survivors include four children, Dennis G. Minter of O'Fallon, Debra Clark of Poplar Bluff, Melvin Nonn of Piedmont and Phyllis Fernandez of Woodson Terrace, Mo.; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Her parents, Ralph and Viola (Miller) Stull and a son, William Ralph Nonn also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel with the Rev. Keith Luke officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Puxico.
