Doris Jean Watson, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at The Cedargate in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Watson was born Oct. 13, 1933 in Kennett. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Watson was an avid seamstress and enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, singing, reading and baking.
On July 1, 1950 she married Louis J. Watson in Piggott, Ark. He survives.
Other survivors include three children, Vickie Lynn Richey and her husband Roger of Poplar Bluff, Jeffrey Louis Watson and his wife Kelly of Mooresville, NC and Rhonda Joy Clark and her husband Mike of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, David Bryan Kirby, Jonathan Kirby, Brent Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Daniel Watson, Kayla Watson and Dylan Watson; a great-grandchild, Haidyn Wormington; three sisters, Lucille Allen of Flint, Mich., Carroll Belt of Poplar Bluff and Barbara Anderson of Kennett; and a brother, Bobby Don Kirby of Wappapello.
Her parents, Eldon and Elva Mae (Grogan) Kirby and sister, Helen Ford preceded Mrs. Watson in death.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel with Dr. Steve Proctor officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
