Dorothy Jean Cattron, 91, of Poplar Bluff, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born on May 4, 1928 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Clardy O. and Grace (Allen) Sullivan. On March 22, 1947 she married Earl F. Cattron in Greenville, MO. Together they shared over forty-eight years of marriage before his passing in September of 1995.

She was retired having served her neighbors for many years as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.

Dorothy enjoyed sports and was on the first women’s softball team in Poplar Bluff, in later years she was an avid bowler. She also liked playing cards and bingo with her friends at River Mist. Most of all Dorothy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Sharon “Jeannie” (Tony) Lee of Poplar Bluff, David Earl (Joyce) Cattron of Texarkana, TX, Steven Wayne (Tricia) Cattron of Leawood, KS, Randy Scott Cattron of Marionville, MO and Danny Lee (Cindy) Cattron of Lake St. Louis, MO; special friends Nelson (Karen) Wallis, Linda Morgan and Marge Wilcutt; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild and her first great-great grandchild on the way.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Edgar Sullivan, Truman Sullivan and Pauline Bhaer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from noon until the time of service in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service, 1100 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Ward officiating.

Interment will follow immediately in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
