Dorothy Clark Jones

Dorothy Clark Jones, 80, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at The Cedargate in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 3, 1929 in Wyatt, Mo. She was a member of Brown Chapel AME Methodist Church, and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Jones previously worked as an L.P.N. at Poplar Bluff Hospital, Doctors Regional Medical Center and later had retired from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

On Sept. 9, 1967 she married Clarence Jones in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include five children, Edna Jean Jones (Jerry) of Sikeston, Jimmie Reed (Joan) and Walter Reed both of Poplar Bluff, William Reed of St. Louis and Charles Wayne Reed of Dallas, Tex.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jewell Hale of Poplar Bluff, Bessie Clark of Sacramento, Calif. and Fannie Hilt of San Francisco, Calif.; and a special friend who was like a sister, Ann D. Barnes of Poplar Bluff.

Her parents, Van and Leuvia Miller Clark, six sisters and three brothers preceded Mrs. Jones in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. James Boler officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
