Dorothy Belle Pierce

Dorothy B. (Pollard) Pierce, 81, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, August 14, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Pierce was born November 4, 1927 in Poplar Bluff and was a member of the Wesleyan Church. She was a homemaker and also along with her husband owned Pierce Mobile Homes in Poplar Bluff.

On October 10, 1948 she married C. J. Pierce and he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1991.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Melba Pierce of Granite City, IL and Mildred Landreth of Poplar Bluff; friends, Jim and Mary Hahn and family of Cape Girardeau; Geraldine Johnson and family of Poplar Bluff; Dr. Cathy Hicks; and Alvie and Irma Browning of Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents Jay and Minnie (Kittredge) Pollard.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with the Rev. Alan Harlan officiating.
