Dorothy Mae Stewart

Dorothy Mae Stewart, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at her residence in Poplar Bluff. She was born November 16, 1927 in Festus, Mo to Harry John and Nellie Marie Knott Miller. Her parents preceded her in death.
On January 7, 1955 she married Alvin Stewart in Poplar Bluff, he preceded her in death on June 8, 1996.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of First United Methodist Church, and past choir member. She had worked as an Executive Secretary to the President of Three Rivers Community College for 22 years. Dorothy served several College Presidents and worked with many wonderful people there, and was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed playing piano in the church's Sunday school.
She is survived by her sons; Kevin Stewart of Silva, and Kent Stewart of Poplar Bluff, Kevin's wife Debbie their daughter Lacey and son James, Kent's wife Teffany and their son Johnathan. Kent's sons Matthew and Daniel and Teffany's daughters Kristen and Alexis.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the First United Methodist Church on Friday August 16 at 11am. Any memorial donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church. Cotrell Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
