Dorothy J. Weisbrod

Dorothy Jeane Weisbrod, 72, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Weisbrod was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Neelyville to the late Hoover E. and Edith Lorene (Lockwood) Odom. She was a member of Good Hope Methodist Church, and a member of the Missouri Star Quilter's Association. Mrs. Weisbrod received a Bachelor's degree in Education from Arkansas State University, her Master's degree from Webster University, and retired from Eugene Field Elementary School as a 3rd grade teacher after 36 years of teaching. She enjoyed gardening and taking her horse on trail rides.

In 1960, she married J. R. Weisbrod at the Methodist Church, in Neelyville. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Weisbrod, of Jonesboro, Ark.; and brother, Carroll Odom, of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be at the Doniphan City Cemetery.
