Dorrell David Richmann

March 21, 1944 — March 29, 2026

Dorrell David "Dave" Richmann, 82, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was born on March 21, 1944, in Wappapello, Missouri, to the late Earnest and Lillian Richmann.

Dave grew up with a passion and love for sports. He played basketball during his high school years and had a childhood dream of becoming a radio announcer. Little did he know that dream would shape the rest of his life and one day become a reality. At 26 years old he attended Broadcast School and launched his career in radio at KJCF in Festus, Missouri. In 1975, he moved to the Springfield, Missouri area to join the team at KWTO, known as "Keep Watching the Ozarks." After several years with KWTO, Dave became a beloved KTTS Ranch Hand, a role he held for more than 25 years. Radio was not simply a profession for Dave; it was his calling. He loved every moment behind the microphone, and his exuberant and inviting voice became a familiar companion to listeners across the Ozarks.

That same voice also carried a gift for song. Dave loved singing southern gospel music with his brother Don and his cousin Alvie as part of the Richmann Quartet, performing together off and on over the years. He was a faithful member of his church choir and frequently sang specials during services. He also lent his beautiful voice to countless weddings which helped make the special day even more memorable for the couples being celebrated. He often told his cousin Alvie that he still had a lot of song in his heart.

Dave's passion for broadcasting extended into the classroom as well. He served as an instructor at the Southwest School of Broadcasting in Springfield, Missouri. He was honored as Instructor of the Year in 1994 by the Missouri Association of Private Career Schools, a recognition that reflected his dedication to nurturing the next generation of broadcasters.

Beyond radio and music, Dave was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, rarely missing a game on television and making cherished trips to their Spring Training in Orlando, Florida. He also loved college basketball, gardening, and traveling. Above all, he loved being with his family; visiting, telling jokes, and sharing the kind of silly stories that kept everyone laughing.

Dave was a devout Christian and a man of deep, unwavering faith. His love for Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life and touched everyone who knew him. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and would have done anything in the world for them.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly Richmann; his parents, Earnest and Lillian Richmann; his sister, Lola Costephens; and his son in law, Bryan Stephens.

Dave is survived by his daughters, Dawn Stephens and Lilia Jay (husband Patrick); his son, Marco Richmann (wife Jodie); his brother, Don Richmann; his sister, Lorretta Fox; his five grandchildren, Dustin Barrett and Nathan Barrett (wife Summer); Alexa and Joseph Voirol; and Ryman Neal; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends whose lives were all made richer by knowing him.

Dave once said, "There is still a lot of song in my heart." Those who loved him know that his song will never truly end. It lives on in the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the faith he so beautifully shared. May he rest now in the eternal peace of his Savior, singing forevermore.
