Doyne Baker

Doyne Baker Jr., 75, of Wappapello, passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Baker was born Dec. 11, 1939 Gideon, Mo., to the late Doyne Bruce and Margie (Grimes) Baker. He attended Little Brushy Missionary Baptist Church and had retired from Ford Motor Company in St. Louis. Mr. Baker enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, computers and music.

In 1959, he was married to Patricia Ann Poole in East St. Louis, Ill. She preceded him in death in December of 2006. On May 9, 2008, he married Norma Jean Smith in Butler County. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include four children: Doyne Baker III and Kenneth R. Baker both of St. Charles and Jimmy Smith and Vonda Earnhardt both of Gideon; three granddaughters; three grandsons; two great grandsons; three brothers: Larry Byron Baker of Hillsboro, Teddy Jacques of Wildwood and Gary Jacques of Springfield; and three sisters: Barbara Kemper of Eureka, Cindy Ray of Sikeston and Beverly Ford of Searcy, Ark.

A Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello with Rev. Tim Schultz officiating.
