E. L. "Buddy" Hupp

E. L. "Buddy" Hupp, 84, of Fairdealing, passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Hupp, the son of the late Lewis A. and Elizabeth Smith Hupp, was born Jan. 14, 1932 in Essex, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith and had retired from the US Navy. During his tenure in the Navy, Mr. Hupp proudly served his country during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Hupp enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing for catfish and deer hunting.

In 1952, he married the former Ruth Becker. On Dec. 16, 1977, he married the former Patricia Hager. She survives of the home.

Survivors include three children: Mary Sue (George) Davis and Delbert (Barbara) Hupp of Poplar Bluff and Jeannie (Brian) Isom of Harviell; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Anita Hupp of Poplar Bluff; and a brother, Orville "Bill" Hupp of Sikeston, Mo.

A son, Randall Hupp and seven brothers, Lewis Hupp, Elmer Hupp, Melvin Hupp, Elvis Hupp, Elva Hupp, Asa Hupp and Glen Hupp also preceded Mr. Hupp in death.

The visitation will begin at noon Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff, with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. The Rev. Tim Freeman will officiate. Burial with full military honors will take place at Kinsey Cemetery in Butler County.
