Edith Ardella Shamblin

Edith Ardella Shamblin, 90, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Shamblin was born December 15, 1923 in Hendrickson, MO, to the late William and Onie Sisco Hicks.
On April 26, 1946, she married Ervin Herbert Shamblin in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1989.
Mrs. Shamblin was of the General Baptist faith, was a homemaker and had worked at Lucy Lee Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family, planting flowers and gardening, reading and watching St. Louis Cardinal's baseball.
Survivors include her children, Brenda Shirkey (Keith) of Morehouse, MO, Rick Shamblin (Pam) of Blue Springs, MO, Regena Chronister (Richard) of West Plains, MO, and Curtiss Shamblin of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and four sisters: Mildred Shrum and Barbara Rose of Campbell, MO, Kathleen Psalmonds, ofLutz, FL, and Magdalene Barr of Poplar Bluff.
A son, Ronald Shamblin, also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 ? 8 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel, with Pastor Dennis Aud officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Butler County.
