Edmond Lee Prosise, 87, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Prosise was born Sept. 21, 1923 in Williamsville, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith, and had retired from Union Electric in St. Louis. Mr. Prosise was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion in Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.

On Sept. 15, 1951 he married Mable Francis Hurst in East St. Louis, Ill. She survives.

Other survivors include 3 children, Linda Sue Pirtle and husband James and Paul Jerome Prosise all of Poplar Bluff and Deborah Johnson and husband Eric of Columbia, Ill.; 7 grandchildren, Pamela Prosise, Mitchell Prosise and wife Sandy, Laura Prosise, Natasha Pirtle, Nicholas Pirtle, Ashley Pirtle and Leif Johnson; several great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, James Prosise and wife Patsy of Poplar Bluff and Kenneth Prosise of Williamsville.

His parents, Samuel and Lela (Sutton) Prosise, and son, Richard Lee Prosise preceded Mr. Prosise in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Luther Goins officiating. Burial will be at Holiday Cemetery in Williamsville, Mo.
