Edna Delorce Burkhart

Edna Delorce Burkhart, 83, of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at her residence.

Mrs. Burkhart was born March 15, 1925, in Kennett, Mo. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Burkhart enjoyed sewing, gardening and shopping.

On July 29, 1943 she married Edgar Burkhart, in Broseley, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1994.

Survivors include 13 children, Junior Lee Burkhart and wife Marvene, of Ellsinore, Edna Geter and husband James, of Doniphan, Everett Burkhart, and wife Liz, of Poplar Bluff, Marie Jameson and husband Kenneth, of Versailles, Mo., Virgil Burkhart and wife Jody, of Melbourne, Ark., Bobby Burkhart and wife Sue, of Grandin, Ronnie Burkhart and wife Kathy, of Poplar Bluff, Barbara Rinabarger and husband Max, of Wellsville, Kans., Mary Ellen Anderson and husband Don, of Poplar Bluff, Harold Glenn Burkhart, of Poplar Bluff, Judy Powell and husband Robert, of Neelyville, Thelma Allen and husband Jim, of Poplar Bluff and Jimmy Burkhart, of Poplar Bluff; many grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Her parents, Audie and Idie Kellieann (Hays) Williams, and son, Tommy Burkhart also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel with Chaplain Ed Stoner officiating. Burial will be at Sparkman Cemetery, in Butler County.
