Edward Lee Halter, 60, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Halter was born Feb. 7, 1952 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith, and was the manager of Long John Silvers Restaurant in Poplar Bluff for 34 years. Mr. Halter enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and working on his computer.
On Sept. 29, 2000, he married Joyce Ellen Kingery in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 2011.
Survivors include two stepchildren, Carolyn Knotts of Kansas City, Mo. and Patricia Montiel and husband, Gabriel of Poplar Bluff; four step-grandchildren, Kimberly Knotts, Tiffinee Knotts, Gabriel Montiel II and Alexis Montiel; a brother, Phillip Halter of Jackson, Mo; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His parents, Vincent J. and Pearl Irene (Lusk) Halter and son, Brian Halter also preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Chris Dodd officiating. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
