Edward Charles Lynch, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Lynch was born Aug. 5, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and had retired after 42 years as a conductor with Burlington Northern Railroad. Mr. Lynch was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the American Legion in Poplar Bluff, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Arizona and a member of the Moose Lodge in Illinois. He enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed animals.
On Aug. 14, 1970 he married Shirley Clayton Birnel. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Patricia Marie Brady, Helen Elaine Lynch and Kathleen Joan Fry of Florida; a son, James Edward Lynch of Marion, Ill.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
