Elaine A. Knuckles, 75, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Knuckles was born Feb. 14, 1933 in Poplar Bluff. She had retired from the Poplar Bluff School System as an elementary teacher. Mrs. Knuckles enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf and flower gardening.
On July 8, 1950 she married Hershel Ray Knuckles in Corning, Ark. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2004.
Survivors include three sons: Mark Alan Knuckles and his wife Debbie Roberts, Hershel ""Butch"" Knuckles, and Joe Knuckles and his wife Karen all of Poplar Bluff; 9 grandchildren: Mark A. Knuckles, Jr. and his wife Christy, Jason Knuckles, Jake Knuckles, Ryan Knuckles, Libby Knuckles, Katy Knuckles, Shawn Knuckles, Courtney Knuckles and Kellie Jo Buttrey; 3 great-grandchildren: Ben Knuckles, Emily Knuckles and Megan Knuckles; a sister, Kathern Riley, of Poplar Bluff; and two brothers, Kenneth Rushin and his wife Jane, of St. Charles and Paul Rushin and his wife Delores, of Chillicothe, Ill.
Her parents, Robert and Millie (Rice) Rushin, sister, Alta Chance and brothers, Virgil Rushin, Jack Rushin, Bill Rushin, Bud Rushin and Ralph Rushin preceded Mrs. Knuckles in death.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Kneir officiating. Burial will be at Cochran Cemetery, in Butler County.
