Elizabeth Reed, 85, a long-time resident of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at Memorial Hospital, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Ms. Reed was born June 9, 1923, in Marvella, Ark. She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Butler County, and was previously employed as a nursing home cook. Mrs. Reed enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church, sewing, gardening and helping others.
Survivors include five children: Branch Norris, of Rock Island, Ill., Ira Norris and wife Patricia, of Fort Worth, Tex., Samuel Wiley Norris, of Rock Island, Ill., Carrie Blackman and husband Tyrone, of Germantown, Md. and Elizabeth Wade, of Savannah, Ga.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Annie Bell Weaver Fields, of Lakeland, Fla.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 29th at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in Butler County. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Church with the Rev. Andrew Jefferson officiating and the Rev. Johnny Williams assisting. Burial will be at Bacon Pasture Cemetery, in Butler County.
