Elsa Lee Boeving

November 14, 1921 — October 15, 2016

Elsa Lee Boeving, cherished daughter of the late William F. and Cecile Priest, adored wife of Leo Boeving and loving mother to Hugh, Debra and Robert, rose from the menacing grip of Alzheimer’s on Oct. 15, 2016. She would have celebrated her 95th birthday next month

Elsa was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Ann Altar Society. She helped to create the initial library for Sacred Heart Catholic School and led and participated in many fund raising activities. Elsa spent many hours volunteering at both hospitals and museums. Known for her style, grace and charm, one of her greatest enjoyments over the years was hosting large dinner parties and remaining close with a smaller circle of friends that she and Leo considered as family. Her beautiful smile and capturing personality led to friends across the miles, as she and Leo loved to travel and explore. Most notable is the lasting impression that she made in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where both employees and guest of Lago Mar still ask about her to this day.

Elsa Lee is once again in the embrace of her parents, her loving husband Leo, her beloved granddaughter Shannon and others who have gone on before her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Hugh Boeving and Debra Miller and her husband Raffy of Poplar Bluff and Robert Boeving of Newport News, Va.; nine grandchildren, Daniel Boeving, Christian Boeving, Alexandrea Boeving Allen and her husband Stuart, Nicholas Boeving, Mariah Boeving, Scout Boeving, Anouk Boeving Sean Miller and Leo Miller and his wife Tonya; and eight great-grandchildren, Hillary Miller, Josh Webb, Madison Miller, Makenzie Miller, Mercedes Miller, Sarafina Allen, Savian Allen and Maddix Miller.

A graveside service will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, Oct. 28th at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Father William Hodgson officiating.

Memorial donations may be made the The Alzheimer’s Association, 1630 W. Elfindale St., Springfield, MO 65807-1286.
