Elsie W. Dodd

Elsie W. Dodd, 105, of Benton, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at Heartland Rehab Center in Benton, Ark.

Mrs. Dodd, the daughter of the late Allen J. and Elvira Tounzen Yates, was born June 7, 1911 in Coweta, Okla. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Ark. and had retired as a Quality Control Inspector. Mrs. Dodd enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, crocheting, quilting and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Freddy (Miss Ann) Dodd 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 36 great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dodd was also preceded in death by 11 children, Opal Clements, Buddy Dodd, Lowell Dodd, Glenn Dodd, Irene Dodd and others, the father of her children and an older sister, Opal Yates.

The visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Tim Carter will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
