Elza Pierce, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Oakdale Care Center.
Mrs. Pierce was born Aug. 14, 1923 in Doniphan, MO. She was a member of Westside Church of God. Mrs. Pierce was a homemaker and had been a volunteer for several years at Lucy Lee Hospital. She also enjoyed sewing cooking, and spending time with her family.
On Jan. 17, 1942 she married Millice Pierce in Pocahontas, AR, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1995. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Clarence and Josephine (Johnson) Welch and four sisters.
Survivors include one son, Ron Pierce and wife Barbara of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Debbie Knowles and husband Robert, Ronda Davis and husband Mark, Christina Pierce, and Rachel Jenkins and husband Chris; eight great-grandchildren, Tim Davis, Andy Knowles, Cassie Sieben and husband Derek, Stacy Davis, Brittany Davis, Monica Wyatt, Pierce Jenkins, and Emily Jenkins; and two great-great-granddaughters, Lexi Sieben and Makenizie Sieben.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, followed by a graveside service and burial at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Cotrell Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
