Emily Ann Penn

Emily Ann Penn, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at her residence.

Emily, the daughter of the late Bill and Clarabelle Davis Marvel, was born Dec. 5, 1941 in Poplar Bluff. She served as Poplar Bluff City Treasurer for 14 years, and had also worked for Hastings Book Store as well as Russell Stover Candy Company. Emily was an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts. Her most treasured time was spent with her children and grandchildren and attending their ball games.

Emily married William M. Penn on Sept. 3, 1960 in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1978.

Survivors include two sons, Bradley Ward and Mitchell Scot Penn and his significant other Heidi McMullin of Poplar Bluff; a daughter-in-law Susan Penn of Portageville; five grandchildren, Lance, Jordan, Kellye, Kurt and Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Tate, Clay, Mollie and Liam; a sister Louise Essary of Portageville; and several cousins.

A son, Rob Penn and a brother David Marvel also preceded Emily in death.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Dr. Ron Webb will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
