Erden "Connie" Claudine Richardson

Erden Claudine "Connie" Richardson, 87, of Poplar Bluff, entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Richardson, daughter of the late Claude Moses and Ruth Irene (Greene) Mann, was born Feb. 10, 1928 in Marmaduke, Ark. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Richardson enjoyed reading and writing in her journal. She dearly loved watching her late husband, "Sarge" pitch softball, reading inspirational verses and her dog, Rocky.

In 1952, she married the love of her life, Marion Lee "Sarge" Richardson in Pana, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Survivors include four children: Karen (Gerald) Woodson of Troy, Mo., David Lee (Linda) Richardson of Clear Lake, Iowa, Sandra Ivy of Tampa, Fla., and Judi (Stuart) Richardson-Rockwell of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren: Chad Killian, Cassie (Brad) Okerstrom, Olivia Richardson, Logan (Karen) Rockwell, Lauren (Jeremy) Cude, Tyler Spanos, Eric Ivy and Kaitlin Ivy; and four great-grandchildren: Blaine Rockwell, Mason Cude, Trevor Killian and Leyton Okerstrom.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Richardson and a sister, Dulcenia Joy Christer.

Visitation will begin a 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Dr. William Vail will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
