Esther I. Shepherd

Esther I. Shepherd, 91, of O'Fallon, formerly of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 in O'Fallon.

Mrs. Shepherd was born Nov. 16, 1918 in Hilliard. She was a member of Oak Hill General Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Shepherd enjoyed putting together puzzles and making quilts.

On March 5, 1936 she was married to Ivan Shepherd in Ellsinore. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1982.

Survivors include two children: Edmond Shepherd and Reva Shepherd both of O'Fallon; eight grandchildren: Tina Blankenship, Becky Edwards, Debbie Wetzig, Trish Turner, Darwin Shepherd, Gwen Morgan, Allison Bolla and Amanda Shepherd; six great-grandchildren: James Blankenship, Brian Andy Edwards, Michael Edwards, Amy Edwards, Matthew Colbert and Zane Morgan; and a sister, Merle Moore of Poplar Bluff.

Her parents, Dan and Ina (Turner) Stucker and son, Ivan R. Shepherd preceded Mrs. Shepherd in death.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
