Ethel Louise Vincent, 80, of Florissant, formerly of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Vincent was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Hendrickson, Mo. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and was a former school teacher for the Martin and Bluewater School System. Mrs. Vincent enjoyed spending time with her family, but one of her greatest enjoyments was following the St. Louis Cardinals and going to their games. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, fishing and going for drives.
On June 21, 1952, she was married to Jimmie Vincent, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Vila and husband Stephen, of St. Louis, Mo. and Linda Torlina and husband Don, of St. Charles, Mo.; a son, Jimmie Lee Vincent and wife Sharon, of
Warrenton, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Steven Vila, Eric Vila, Sheldon Torlina, Ryan Vincent, Jim Taylor Vincent, Wendy Vincent, Jeanie Vincent, Jasmine Vincent, Tyler Vincent and Steven Williams, several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hattie Manns, of Pacific, Mo. and Pansy Eastwood, of Poplar Bluff.
Her parents, Sam and Lettie (Deaton) Pennell, son, Tommie Vincent, sister, Betty Vincent and brother, George Pennell also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, on W Highway, in Butler County with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
