Ethel Ina White

Ethel Ina (Newingham) White, 93, of Poplar Bluff departed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. White was born July 9, 1915 in Salem, Ark. She was a member of the Bluff City United Pentecostal Church, and was a retired nurse. Mrs. White enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and sewing.

On Nov. 5, 1932 she married Orley Lee White in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1995.

Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy Dunlap and her husband Earl and Patsy Dunlap and her husband Roy, all of Poplar Bluff and Shelby ""Jean"" Johnson and her husband Morgan of Paragould, Ark.; a sister, Lorene Davis of Harviell; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Maude (Gossett) Newingham, son, Larry White, granddaughter, Debbie Johnson and great-grandsons, Brian Lee Johnson and Spencer Swindle.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ted Elledge officiating and the Rev. Wesley Taylor assisting. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
