Eva June Smith, 83, of Wappapello, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 11, 1928 in Barnfork, Mo. She was a homemaker, and a member of Eagles Lodge 4066 at Wappapello as well as the Ladies Auxiliary 4066. Mrs. Smith enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard and playing bingo.
On Sept. 25, 1944 she married Jack W. Smith in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2008.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Lynn Agoain of St. Louis; 5 grandchildren: Thomas Michael Baker of O'Fallon, Mo., Angela Michelle Switzer of South St. Louis, Mo., Steven Robert Agoain of Arnold, Mo., Melody Ann Hill of Puxico, Mo. and Kelly Marie Agoain of Florissant, Mo.; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Linda Sullivan and Joyce Halbrook; and 4 brothers, James Halbrook, Sam Halbrook, Gary Halbrook and Robert Halbrook all of St. Louis, Mo.
A daughter, Beverly Ann Smith, a son, Thomas Michael Smith and her parents, Fonty and Mable (Radford) Halbrook also preceded Mrs. Smith in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Wappapello Chapel with The Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. A committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in St. Louis, Mo. with The Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
