Evelyn Darlene Bazzell

Evelyn Darlene Bazzell, 73, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away peacefully in her home and surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Evelyn was born on June 14, 1952, to Chalmer Young and Georgia (Moore) Young in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She married the love of her life, Carl Ludean Bazzell on February 17, 1976, in Poplar Bluff. They spent many wonderful years together and had three beautiful daughters.

Evelyn was of the Christian faith and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It brought her joy to help or give to others when she could. Her kind and caring nature led to a career in healthcare as an LPN for nearly 20 years. She began working in the nursery and later transitioned into rehabilitation. Evelyn was witty, strong-willed and could always make people smile and laugh. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending her time gardening, laughing with her daughters and best friends, having pool parties and spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her kindhearted spirit, Evelyn was also known to have a good sense of humor and an unapologetic, passionate personality. She will be missed and remembered the most for the fierce love she had for family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her three daughters, Diana Bazzell-Barker (Brent), Debbie Bazzell (Ronnie Lovins), and Georgiann Bazzell; her three grandsons, Dawson Schenks, Carsen Bazzell, and Dylan Simmers; two sisters (best friends) Nancy Guest and Peggy Hall; brother, Mark Young; stepson Carlos Bazzell; her special, loving, and loyal companion, her dog Macey. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Bazzell; brother, Charles Young; grandson, Ashton Drake Barker; and stepdaughter, Karen Bazzell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 03, 2026, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service to follow beginning at Noon with Chaplain Callum Reavey officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Qulin Cemetery.
