Evelyn M. Harris (Williams) Mcdaniel

Evelyn M. Harris McDaniel of Shreveport, La., formerly of Poplar Bluff, went home to live with her Savior on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. She was living with her son, Jerry and his wife, Becky in Shreveport.

Evelyn was born Aug. 3, 1922 to Elmer H. and Rettie Myrtle (Houston) Williams. She grew up in and around the Jonesboro, Ark. area. She was the last surviving of eight siblings.

On July 17, 1938, she married Cecil M. Harris. He preceded her in death in Nov. 1979. In Nov. of 1983, she married Erby McDaniel. He died in March of 2010.

She is survived by three sons: Melvin Harris, of Lakeland, Fla., Charles (Edith) Harris of St. Louis and Jerry (Becky) Harris, of Shreveport; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, 6076 Hwy. 142 S. in Poplar Bluff at 10 a.m. on March 5 with services following at 11 a.m. The Rev. Vaughn Kirkman will officiate. Burial will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
