Everett L. Baker

Everett L. Baker, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Baker was born June 25, 1926 in Corning, Ark. He attended Southside Assembly of God, and had retired from Wayne County. Mr. Baker enjoyed spending time with his family, cattle ranching and working.

On Nov. 4, 1947, he married Ruby Hutson in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on April 16, 1994.

Survivors include two children, Mike Baker and wife Charlotte of Eugene, Oreg. and Linda Putney of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Keen of Doniphan, Mo.; and three brothers, David Baker and Donald Baker both of Poplar Bluff and Verlin Baker of Enville, Tenn.

His parents, Norman and Gertie (Taylor) Baker also preceded Mr. Baker in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Funeral Chapel with The Rev. Jerry Lemons officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Butler County.
