Eydie O. Woods, 72, of Broseley, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Woods was born Aug. 15, 1937 in the Morocco Community of Butler County, and was of the Baptist faith. She worked many years as a domestic worker for Syl and Clara Resnik, and later retired from the food service department of Doctor's Regional Medical Center. Ms. Woods enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking and reading.
Survivors include three sisters, Carrie Diggs-McCombs of Poplar Bluff, Myrtle Shaw and husband Willie of Broseley and Gladys M. Woods-Reed and husband Richard of Grandview; two brothers, Percy Frank Woods of Poplar Bluff and Cecil James Woods of Broseley; dear family friend, Marsha Keeble of Chicago. Ill.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her parents, Charley F. and Flora Lee Woods, sisters, Drew Helen Woods and Dimples M. Reed, and brothers Charley Alonzo Woods, John W. Woods, Lewis Napoleon Woods, Anthony L. Woods, Kenneth L. Woods and Nathaniel Woods (baby) preceded Ms. Woods in death.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Otis Hawes officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
