Fern J. (Ragsdale) Hill

Fern J. Hill, 72, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hill was born Feb. 1, 1939 in Poplar Bluff. She attended Agee Community Church; was a member of the Eastern Star and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hill enjoyed spending time with her family, making crafts and going to craft shows.

On May 25, 1963, she married Gene Hill in Fairdealing, Mo. He survives.

Other survivors include two children, Gene Hill, Jr. and wife Christina and Michelle Hill all of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren, Gene Hill III and Marcus Hill; a sister, Rose Marie Whitmer and husband Gary of Poplar Bluff; and a brother, Richard Ragsdale and wife Kristi of St. Charles, Mo.

Her parents, Herbert R. and Lorenz ""Peggy"" (Nelson) Ragsdale preceded Mrs. Hill in death.

An Eastern Star Service will begin at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with visitation following until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
